Designer first, developer by obsession — from Heredia, Costa Rica to Seattle, WA.
I grew up in Heredia, Costa Rica, where I earned a technical diploma in administrative service management — but spent most of my energy teaching classmates web fundamentals, tutoring math, and designing everything the school would let me design. In 2023 I moved to Seattle to push further, and I've been building ever since.
I came to code through design. I'm an Adobe Certified Professional and the Lead Graphic Designer at Edmonds College's Center for Students, Engagement & Leadership, and that visual training shapes how I build software: I care about interfaces people actually understand, hierarchy that guides the eye, and details that make a tool feel finished.
What I love building most are tools that turn messy public data into something people can actually use. The Washington Affordable Housing Search exists because I navigated Seattle's scattered housing landscape myself and knew it could be searchable. The CS143 Notebook and Java visualizer exist because they were the study tools I wished I had. If a problem annoys me twice, I build something.
Away from the editor: I shoot event photography (a big part of my campus design work), I tutor — math, web fundamentals, Microsoft Office, databases — because teaching something is how I know I've learned it, and I switch between Spanish and English all day, every day.
